In addition to receiving general submissions for the Paradise on the Margins anthology, we are launching a supplementary program called the Writing Circle. The program will welcome 6 trans women and trans femmes of color to receive feedback and mentorship in writing a chapter to submit for inclusion in the anthology. The members of the cohort will each be paired with a writing mentor​ and will develop their anthology submission over the course of 3 months. The program will alternate between group sessions facilitated by a co-editor and one-one-one meetings between mentors and mentees.

Mentees will receive a $500 stipend for completing the program, which comprises entirely of virtual meetings. The program dates are split between fixed group sessions and mentor-mentee meetings to be scheduled individually. Mentees are expected to read their fellow circle members' drafts (5 people) in preparation for each group session. Group sessions are planned for Sunday afternoons on the following dates:

March 28, 2021
April 25, 2021
May 23, 2021
June 20, 2021

Mentees will be required to meet with their mentor between each group session to review and develop drafts of their anthology submission.
